Amazon.com Review
Psychiatry and metaphysics blend together in this fascinating book based on a true case history. Dr. Weiss, who was once firmly entrenched in a clinical approach to psychiatry, finds himself reluctantly drawn into past-life therapy when a hypnotized client suddenly reveals details of her previous lives. During one hypnosis session his client introduces the spirit guides who have been her soul therapists in between lives. This is when the story really takes off for Weiss, who discovers that these guides have specific messages about his dead son as well as Weiss's mission in life. No, we cannot verify the truth of this story using the limited scientific tools we have available. However, it is hard to dispute that this well-respected graduate of Columbia University and Yale Medical School has discovered a personal truth that has led him to be an enormously popular speaker, author, and leader in the field of past-life therapy. --Gail Hudson

Product Description

As a traditional psychotherapist, Dr. Brian Weiss was astonished and skeptical when one of his patients began recalling past-life traumas that seemed to hold the key to her recurring nightmares and anxiety attacks. His skepticism was eroded, however, when she began to channel messages from "the space between lives," which contained remarkable revelations about Dr. Weiss's family and his dead son. Using past-life therapy, he was able to cure the patient and embark on a new, more meaningful phase of his own career.

5 out of 5 stars Convincing   September 3, 2010

I bought this book a couple of years ago and got this one now as a present for my friend. Dr. Weiss book gives you goosebumps just reading it. A great book for people who weren't convinced reincarnation exists, but who will be after reading the book...

5 out of 5 stars spiritual research   August 15, 2010

This book changed my entire belief system from 'searching' to 'solid'! My entire life has been spent in pursuit of truths in the Bible and how they relate to truths in other spiritual beliefs. This made my belief in reincarnation sensible and solid.

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful book and wonderful message.   July 12, 2010

I really loved this book and Brian Weiss has truly given us the perfect blend of psychiatry and metaphysics to embrace. I've only recently become interested in past-life therapy and find it amazing useful and very therapeutic to read about the journeys others have experienced.

5 out of 5 stars This book changed my life. I don't say that lightly.   July 5, 2010

Dr. Weiss is credible, wise and articulate. He shares his story of going from skepticism about life after death, as a scientist who needs tangible evidence, to a scientist who witnesses the evidence in abundance, changes his views, and shares his story in a moving and fascinating way. I too was skeptical until I experienced a reading recently, and was so moved that I sought out literature to explore the concept more fully. His book gave me hope that life is more than a series of random events with no higher purpose. He helped me believe that we are connected with our loved ones, and in fact, all humans, beyond our life on earth. I now feel that my actions have an impact not only here and now, but forever. I take more joy in life, and I make better decisions. This book has helped me find happiness and meaning in my life.

4 out of 5 stars Fascinating and intriguing!   July 3, 2010
Krista Gilbert-Mindle
Dr. Brian Weiss' willingness to scientifically engage with a topic that is oft considered fringe is remarkable. He does so with curiosity and insight to an extent that it can make most skeptics queston their staunch position of disbelief. I found hope and inspiration in his narrative of his experience.
