Product Description

If You Could Change Your Life by Reversing Your Biggest Regrets, Sorrows and Mistakes...Would You?

#1 New York Times bestselling author and renowned radio and television host Glenn Beck delivers an instant holiday classic about boyhood memories, wrenching life lessons, and the true meaning of the gifts we give to one another in love.

We weren't wealthy, we weren't poor -- we just were. We never wanted for anything, except maybe more time together....

When Eddie was twelve years old, all he wanted for Christmas was a bike. Although his life had gotten harder -- and money tighter -- since his father died and the family bakery closed...Eddie dreamed that somehow his mother would find a way to have his dream bike gleaming beside their modest Christmas tree that magical morning.

What he got from her instead was a sweater. "A stupid, handmade, ugly sweater" that young Eddie left in a crumpled ball in the corner of his room.

Scarred deeply by the realization that kids don't always get what they want, and too young to understand that he already owned life's most valuable treasures, that Christmas morning was the beginning of Eddie's dark and painful journey on the road to manhood. It will take wrestling with himself, his faith, and his family -- and the guidance of a mysterious neighbor named Russell -- to help Eddie find his path through the storm clouds of life and finally see the real significance of that simple gift his mother had crafted by hand with love in her heart.

Based on a deeply personal true story, The Christmas Sweater is a warm and poignant tale of family, faith and forgiveness that offers us a glimpse of our own lives -- while also making us question if we really know what's most important in them.

5 out of 5 stars Great story for all ages!   January 9, 2009
This was a great book! Such an amazing story that really makes you stop and think about your life. I love the way Glenn molded pieces of his own growing up story with other pieces of his life to create a fascinating look at how humans take for granted the people and possessions in their lives. An easy read and a great story for all ages.

5 out of 5 stars A lesson to learn   January 9, 2009
This book made me mad, happy and reminds me daily to think before I speak.
I really enjoyed this book and gave it to friends for Christmas but it is a book for anytime of the year.

3 out of 5 stars Disappointing   January 9, 2009
I was really expecting a lot and the book made me cry (I don't like tear jerkers), but the ending was a real disappointment. I was really looking forward to seeing how the main character would handle the major curve balls that life handed him. Instead, he didn't have to. The book was supposed to be about second chances, I guess, but most people don't get that kind of "second chance." So I felt like I learned nothing.

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic Heart Warming Book   January 9, 2009
I bought this book only knowing Glenn Beck from his political commentary. I bought it for my husband for Christmas thinking it was a political book. I opened up the first page to scan it and began reading it. I both laughed and cried and rejoyced and reminisced... it is an amazing book! A fantastic, easy read. I finished it in 2 days.

I highly reccomend!

5 out of 5 stars Easy Read   January 9, 2009
Glenn Beck has written a book that shows forgiveness through learning and knowing self through emotions, experience and challenges of life. Forgiveness of self leads to forgiving others.
