Product Description
Forbidden Love with a Married Man; E-mail Diaries describes one couple's journey as they struggle with sexual identity and how it conflicts with right and wrong. More than 4 million women are currently or have been married to either a gay or bisexual man. Often the gay spouse feels forced by societal and family pressures into marriage, suppressing his true feelings in order to be socially accepted by appearing "straight." However, in secret these men cheat on their wives by conducting affairs with members of the same sex. This day-by-day memoir diary includes actual daily e-mails and correspondence between the author, Dennis Schleicher, and his 14-year married boyfriend. Will his boyfriend leave his wife and confess to her his love and desire to live with another man, or will he be trapped in his own insecurities and not move to a side of life he has kept hidden all of these years, risking the loss of his potential "soulmate"?Every married and single woman and male and/or those engaged in a relationship will learn the truth about two loving people who are highly challenged to reveal their innermost souls in order to "survive."

5 out of 5 stars I know it is going to hit the New York Times Best Sellers List.   January 3, 2009

The first time I heard of this book, it was the author reading me the ending of his memoir. I've had the priviledge of knowing this author for 21 years. He called me with excitement that he finally got it. He found his story and he read me the ending and I said read me more.... pleeeaaassseee, this is a page turner. He has the power to move you with both his verbal and written word so that your heart will laugh, leap and both start and stop crying at the same time. As you are reading this heartfelt story you will feel that you are in the presence of both Dennis and Byron so you can actually not only witness but also experience the developmental stages of their love.

5 out of 5 stars Deeply Romantic   December 31, 2008

Deeply romantic and extraordinarily suspenseful, "Forbidden Love with a Married Man," captures the struggle between defying our instincts and satisfying our desires. This is a love story with a different kind of forbidden sensation. A struggle, journey, that defies all odds.

4 out of 5 stars I Like It With My Two Bits Added   December 7, 2008

A tremendous amount of reviews for this WHICH I NOTICED are mainly FEMALE and from the area where Dennis lives. Hmmmm. What did he do, throw a dinner in the banquet room of the Thai restaurant he likes if they gave a review?? Maybe so. I can't understand why women would be interested in this book. Has nothing to do with the women. Exactly the opposite.

I did not like the fact that Dennis and Byron seem to be snobs as relates to the gay community. It's like they have their own little classification or something. They like the parts of it they can take advantage of, like the male hook-up websites, etc., but other than that they don't want anything to do with the gay community. I can sort of understand it, I'm there too and it does put you in a awkward position, but I would never revert or mingle with the straight world in compromise. Makes for a pretty solitary lifestyle. Yes, we're not all bar hopping and promiscuous. To tell you the truth, maybe the reason they don't like it is because they are so phoo-phooey. I thought for sure they would be two bottoms and wouldn't know what to do! But of course Dennis made sure to tell us how well endowed he is and Byron too. What was that all about?

Well, I do also think that he should have ended it with a more informative conclusion. DID Byron leave his wife or not? Are they together or not? Still together?? Dennis was completely out, but Byron had a lot to sort out still. Well, if they're together still I am sure they are a great pair and I wish them well. There's supposed to be a sequel?? Good. I'll read it.

5 out of 5 stars It's like listening to a conversation you shouldn't be listening to   November 28, 2008

Schleicher's book is so forbidden, ahead of its time.

Many years ago I had a gay boyfriend... I never understood why??? Was it me? Dennis Schleicher's book helped me realize the truth.
Everyone must read this!!! I believe all of the other reviewers tell it all. I look forward to his future work.

5 out of 5 stars It's Time for Change "Barack Obama"   November 11, 2008

One cannot help but feel for Byron the gay married man as you'll sympathize with how society has made it unbearable for people like Byron, James McGreevey, Dennis Schleicher to be honest with their wives, family members, place of business, friends, their colleagues and most importantly themselves. Dennis so inadequately addresses the feelings of Roberta, the wife he might leave behind. You'll be dying to know if he actually musters up the courage to be a real man and tell the truth.

In my view, Dennis and Byron may have done a real disservice to the thousands of women who learn their husbands are on the down low or using the bisexual excuse when in fact they are 100% gay. What about the wives feelings in all this? She's the one who will ultimately have to deal with her husband's coming out for the rest of her life.

On the other hand there was something so forbidden about reading this real-life sharing as two people developed an extreme bond for each other. I'll be standing in line waiting for the next release or the first person to purchase a ticket at the box office witness this incredible life connection that two individuals have developed. Schleicher's book will show all of us that love has no boundaries.

Byron, it's almost 2009 and people are more understanding than ever. It would be an honor to meet you both in person as I would say; Kudos to you both as you each deserve five 10+ stars along with an outstanding citizenship for your courageous courage that I know will help thousands become truthful to themselves. You both are like the Martin Luther King movement that paved the way for Barack Obama to become president of the United States. Great job!!!
